• At the junction of Main Mac and the access to Mackenzie Camp, we found three young rhino bulls having a late sleep on the side of the road. The one bull got up for a little stretch, but then lay down again to continue the rest! They did not even get up when I started the vehicle and moved off.

• We also had a very nice sighting of a herd of impala near Mackenzie Camp pan as they came out onto the clearings.

• Some tracks were found of Mambiri and her cub heading up Cheetah Track, so we went to join the search. We found their tracks coming west on Mackenzie Cutline, and then cutting north into the block west of the Day One drainage line. After about 45 minutes of tracking, we eventually found them both in the same block with a duiker kill. They had not eaten much, and interestingly neither were feeding on the kill, so they may still have been full from the previous kill. The cub was its inquisitive self, but Mambiri was a little grumpy, and we snarl at the vehicle if we came too close to her, or if anyone moved too much in the vehicle! We eventually left them in the same place.

• We stopped for a drink at Wallingford Dam, where one lone hippo bull kept an eye on us.

• Just outside Paddy’s house we found our resident sounder of warthog also having a rest.
