• The afternoons are getting shorter now, and the sun is setting earlier.. We first found a very relaxed rhino cow and calf north of Nkombe dam. They have been pretty resident around that area and have been giving us great viewing of late. Quite a few red-billed oxpeckers were giving these two rhino a lot of attention and grooming this afternoon.
• We had a very good sighting of a female kudu right next to the road on Mackenzie Cutline, near Dulini-Idube Cutline.
• Three elephant bulls were on Safari Access as we rushed north to try to get to the Ximungwe pride before sunset. As we were pressed for time, we did not stay with them long.
• The Ximungwe pride, with all three young cubs present, was just north of Giraffe Link, east of the western firebreak. They were very sleepy, and did not move much at all, but the one cub was lying right out in the open, and at one point got up to get a drink of milk from its mother. As the cubs are so young, we do not view them after dark yet, so we quickly made space for another vehicle to view them before sunset.
• One buffalo bull was just east of Tawny Eagle Pan at dusk.
